Dept. of Healthcare and Public Health Research
Pharmacy Overview
Pharmacy is responsible for various treatment support roles such as preparation &
medication of pharmaceuticals, their acquisition and distribution, provision of medical information, medical
equipment tasks etc.
When the National Rehabilitation Center was opened, preparation & medication were performed only with 90
types of medical products used in Rehabilitation Medicine Dept. However, with the expansion of the scope of
medical rehabilitation service to disabled people in 1997, treatment departments were increased like the opening
of dental and family medicine departments. Currently, prescription preparation is being performed with
approximately 280 types of medical products.
As the National Rehabilitation Center has a high proportion of patients subject to exception from
medical-pharmaceutical division (Grade 1, 2 disabled patients and inpatients), about 30,000~35,000 prescription
purchase preparation tasks are performed, and medical information is being provided by issuing medical
information booklet once a month.
Since 2002, efforts are being made to upgrade the quality of pharmaceutical process every year through Q.I.
activities, and in 2006, we strive to provide specialized and patient oriented drug material service by trying
to introduce efficient utilization and drug administration supervision system of automated preparation
equipment.
