The National Rehabilitation Center is the only ‘national center’ in Korea that specializes in rehabilitation. Our center has grown to become the nation’s one and only responsible center in promoting health and well-being of people with disabilities by providing various programs through our rehabilitation hospital, rehabilitation research institute, and public rehabilitation services.
The Rehabilitation Hospital provides professional therapies according to various disabilities, and leads the rehabilitation medical services in Korea with the highest expectation of rehabilitation treatments using high-tech equipment including rehabilitation robots. We offer professional but unconventional rehabilitation services, such as, sex rehabilitation, outpatient day rehabilitation, smart home services, and sports rehabilitation programs. In addition, we conduct individualized community reintegration programs to our patients for a successful community reintegration after discharge.
The Research Institute conducts unique rehabilitation research that applies state-of-the-art technology and also leads practical research that may actually be of help in their every day lives. Especially, the institute is focusing on national research projects on 'Rehabilitation Robots' and 'National Statistics on Disabilities’.
The Educational Programs improve the awareness and prevention of disabilities, and play a leading role in promoting the human rights of people with disabilities. We also improve their quality of life by offering driving education and supporting services to secure the rights of people with disabilities.
As a ‘national center’, we are working to establish 'Nationwide Public Rehabilitation Medical System' that encompasses the regional rehabilitation hospitals and the community based rehabilitation (CBR) projects of public health centers. Our center has been designated as the ‘World Health Organization Collaborating Center’ and is actively promoting international cooperations with other countries, including projects on training rehabilitation specialists in the developing countries.
Again the National Rehabilitation Center is the only national center in Korea that specializes in rehabilitation to promote health and well-being of people with disabilities.
We are helping those people to recover their health and return to community successfully by providing individual health screening, professional rehabilitation, health promotion programs, and community reintegration programs. We will do our best to help people with disabilities and their families to live an 'equally healthy and happy life'.
